Julie Albert

Julie Albert, Chris Albert’s wife, testified that John O’Keefe and Karen Read arrived at the Waterfall shortly before 11 p.m. She said Read carried a glass containing clear liquid but did not appear impaired, and that she saw no argument between Read and O’Keefe while she was there. Albert said she left soon afterward with a migraine. The next morning, she went to 34 Fairview Road, where she said people appeared upset and Jennifer McCabe told her something had happened to O’Keefe. Albert testified that she saw no injuries on Brian Albert Sr., Brian Higgins, or her son Colin during the periods she described. On cross-examination, Albert was questioned about her relationship with Courtney Proctor and her ties to investigator Michael Proctor. Asked about 67 calls with Courtney, she said she did not recall the details of calls around Read’s arrest and arraignment, though the arraignment could have been discussed. She denied using Courtney to communicate with Michael about the case. Defense counsel also played video showing Chris Albert leaving the Waterfall at about 12:13 a.m., after Julie Albert’s earlier estimate that he arrived home around 12:10. She said she had made that estimate without seeing the video.
