At the 2025 retrial, Gene Demilus testified as general manager of C.F. McCarthy's, a restaurant and bar in Canton. Demilus said they had worked there for six years and maintained its surveillance system. Demilus testified that two Massachusetts State Police detectives, including Yuri Bukhenik, were given access to download footage from around January 27 and 28, 2022. After Demilus confirmed that the video shown in court fairly and accurately depicted the bar's interior, it was admitted as Exhibit 18 without defense objection. The defense asked no cross-examination questions.
